Yoga Supplies Recommendations

To start a yoga practice, you need very little, but a few things to get you started and motivated definitely help ignite your practice. The below items are bare minimum what I suggest you purchase. I’m all for being minimal and saving money, but you also want to love what you practice with, especially if it gets you to practice more. Check out the items below and all can be found in my Amazon Store. I earn commission based on your purchases. Thank you for your support!

Mat

I’m a firm believer that the price of a mat is generally correlated to its quality. I’ve tried $20 mats to $150 mats. I’ve slipped on cheap ones and worn them out in a matter of months. And my $150 ones have lasted well…I still have them. So it’s really up to you what you feel like spending. And realize that if you want to love your yoga practice, it might be worth spending a little bit more for something you’ll actually look forward to practicing on.

I recommend:

  • Liforme ($140-$185)

  • Manduka Eko Mat Collection ($60-80)

  • Lululemon “The Reversible Mat” ($68)

  • Jade Yoga’s “Harmony Mat” ($80)

Blocks

When I first started practicing yoga, I didn’t want to use blocks, because I always thought they were a crutch. Well, was I proved wrong. After five years of practicing, I use blocks in my practice more than ever now. Cork blocks are great for supporting standing balances and challenging yourself with handstands. Foam blocks are great for bridge work and core work.

Wheel

I love my yoga wheel for both assisting my backbends as well as working my core. It’s honestly one of my favorite props I’ve ever owned.
